Mt. Rose – Wandering Washington

A few friends and I decided to conquer the next mountain on my list – Mt. Rose. According to Alltrails.com, this hike is recommended only for “very serious adventurers.” I take adventure seriously, and believe that the best views come after the hardest climb.

Mileage wise, Mt. Rose isn’t tough. 5.7 miles round trip. Elevation is another story. You climb 3500 ft of elevation in about 3 miles. Once you make it to the summit, you can see Lake Cushman and the Olympic Mountain Range.

It was a physically exhausting hike. Probably the hardest hike I’ve done in a while. I think all of us will be sore tomorrow!

But it was so worth it. We saw beautiful flowers, birds, and even a rabbit! We also slid down a snowbank on our butts, shared some funny stories, and attempted to do some yoga poses without falling off a cliff.

After the hike, we went to Hoodsport Coffee and bought ourselves a well deserved scoop of ice cream. 🙂

Here are some pictures from the day. Enjoy!
